At a high-speed track like Pocono, where straightaway speeds are approximately 230 mph, even a small vibration is ominous. My car developed a bad vibration during the race, and I told the team, “There’s a wheel loose! There’s a wheel loose!” I came in to the pits, and they checked the four wheels. There were a lot of engine and mechanical failures that had ruined our races throughout the season. I hoped to at least see the checkered flag at the end of 500 miles.
